Tātau Tātau o Te Wairoa

Iwi Registration

Tātau Tātau o Te Wairoa Trust is the Post Settlement Governance Entity (PSGE) that has been ratified to receive and administer the Settlement Assets on behalf of Rakaipaaka the Iwi and Hapū of Te Rohe o Te Wairoa. This is for the benefit of the present and future members in accordance with the Tātau Tātau o Te Wairoa Trust Deed.

Any person over 18 years of age, who can Whakapapa to an Iwi and Hapū of Te Rohe o Te Wairoa, may register. Children of those persons who can demonstrate Whakapapa may also be registered. Whāngai and legal adopted persons are also eligible to register.

Section 1 (Personal Information and Contact Details) and Section 2 (Whakapapa) are mandatory.  Please fill out Section 3 if applicable.

This registration form will be entered into the Tātau Tātau o Te Wairoa Trust database which will be available to all Kāhui Beneficial Entities and Marae. All whakapapa details will be kept confidential to the Tātau Tātau o Te Wairoa Trust and all Kāhui Beneficial Entities and Marae. If further whakapapa details are required we will make contact with you.

  • New Deed was established to align with TToTW Deed.
  • Receives Kāhui Beneficial Units (KBU’s) to support Operations, Planning and Settlement of Property Investments.

TIORI

Te Iwi o Rakaipaaka Inc

Roles & Responsibilities

  • The original Rules of Rakaipaaka were established in 1996.
  • Receives grants from funders to progress projects based on the feedback received from whānau

Amendments to the TIORT and TIORI Trust Deeds

Kia ora Whanau Whanui o Ngati Rakaipaaka,
We put this notice out to you all via your emails and on our social media outlets on the 17th October 2022 and its still accessible when you want to keep checking.
"You asked for some amendments to the TIORT and TIORI Trust Deeds at hui-a-iwi held for our AGM on the 19th December 2020 and for our SGM 10th July 2021”. Here are the amendments that have been organised as you directed by the Lawyers to our Trust Deeds – These were discussed at the AGM we held in February 2023.

  1. Te Iwi o Rakaipaaka Trust Deed – Whanau endorsed their preferred replacement of a resigned Trustee of TIORT;
    • That a new clause 17.2 in the First Schedule to read as follows: “Where a Trustee or the TāTāu representative is to be co-opted under clause 17.1, the Trustees must first enquire if the next highest polling candidate from the prior election process is available and willing to act as trustee, and if so, that person must be the person co-opted by the Trustees”.

 

  1. Te Iwi o Rakaipaaka Inc. Trust Deed – Whanau endorsed their preferred makeup of TIORI Trustees; Change of Balance Date; and Functions;
    • TIORI Trustees to Govern and Manage TIORI to consist of 2 Current TIORT Trustees appointed by themselves; and 5 Hapu / Marae appointed by themselves;

 

  1. TIORI Balance date to change from August to June;

 

  1. TIORI to be confirmed as the charitable social services arm of TIORT. And we attached the marked-up versions of the TIORI and TIORT Trust Deeds from the Lawyers for your information and convenience.
